In the 1980’s, Paul made a guitar for Carlos Santana with an amazingly dense and tonal mahogany neck. After years of looking for wood of that quality, we finally found a truck load of old mahogany at a lumber yard that our wood buyer referred to as “sinker mahogany,” implying it was so dense and heavy it would sink. This wood was not literally reclaimed from a body of water. We believe the instrument necks made from this wood are extraordinary and among the best we’ve ever made. We hope you agree.
