Boyce Avenue, a Florida-based band popular for its strong acoustic roots and melodic rock sound, is lead by vocalist, guitarist and chief songwriter Alejandro Manzano. He is joined by his brothers Fabian and Daniel Manzano. Based in Sarasota, FL he and his brothers first came together as a band in 2004 when Alejandro, Fabian (guitar, backing vocals), and their older brother Daniel (bass, percussion, backing vocals) reconnected after pursuing their respective educational goals at college.
In 2007, in an effort to share their music and ideas with the world, Alejandro lead the brothers’ efforts to start filming and posting videos on YouTube of their own songs and some of their favorite songs by other artists. Some of the first few videos they posted included acoustic versions of songs such as Justin Timberlake’s “LoveStoned”, Rihanna’s “Umbrella”, and Coldplay’s “Viva la Vida”, among many others. To date, the band has accumulated over 165,000,000 views on YouTube, with the total number of subscribers approaching 300,000, making their channel one of the most frequented worldwide on YouTube.
After building a solid fan base around the world through its online efforts, Boyce Avenue took to the road in 2009. After a headline tour in the Philippines saw the band play to more than 20,000 fans, the Manzano brothers embarked on their first US headline tour and played to sold-out or near capacity crowds in major markets throughout the US. Next was a fall headline tour of Europe and more successful shows throughout the United Kingdom and mainland Europe.
As of the end of 2009, the band had finished producing and recording a full album of original music. At that time, they were approached by Universal Republic Records to partner in the release of the album. The band, impressed with Republic’s excitement about the music and the band’s wanting to remain extremely hands on with their music, videos, and websites, signed with Universal Republic Records (Jack Johnson, 3 Doors Down, Taylor Swift, Colbie Caillat) in November of 2009. The band’s major label debut album, All We Have Left, will be released on June 15, 2010, featuring “Every Breath,” the first single off the album.
