As the saying goes, “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” Rome In A Day, the internationally touring melodic metal band from the DC metro area, has nonetheless quickly developed an impressive resume that includes performances at the region’s top venues and festivals, as well as two tours abroad.
In May of 2010, Rome In A Day decided to undergo a dramatic transformation that involved a move from rock to metal and a lineup change. After an amicable departure with their original drummer, Lead Guitarist Ali DiPippo, Lead Vocalist James Stevens and Bassist Jay Brazao were soon joined by Kris Combs on Drums and Tom Benca on Rhythm Guitar.
Now with more intricate guitar styling, double bass inspired drums, implementation of various odd time signatures, and increased vocal aggression, the group is poised to take its music even further. Through these changes, the group maintains is its melodic sensibilities and hook driven writing approach. It also maintains the drive to be true to its name and achieve great musical feats.
Their new five song EP entitled ‘Rise’ will be released in April 2011 and showcases Rome In A Day’s powerful new sound.
