Spandau Ballet Tours Australia

Spandau Ballet, one of the most successful and influential British bands of the 1980s, will tour Australia in April 2010. With six multi-platinum albums and 23 hit singles worldwide, the band will travel to Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane to give fans a nostalgic trip down memory lane with the 1980s youth and pop music. Gary Kemp, guitarist and chief songwriter for Spandau Ballet will be playing his PRS SC 250. Special Guests on the tour are fellow British chart toppers, Tears for Fears and Aussie guitarist, Jack Jones (aka Irwin Thomas) who will be opening the show using a PRS 25th Anniversary Tonare Grand acoustic guitar.

PRS Guitars Presents Simon McBride Live at DV

Taking place from the 13th to the 15th of October at 7:30PM onwards, each of these special evening performances will also feature a prize drawing in which a lucky attendee will win a £250 voucher that can be spent on any PRS guitar over the next six months at a DV store of their choice. Three vouchers are up for grabs, with a new prize drawing taking place each night.

PRS Visits O Rappa in Brazil

Shawn Nuthall, from PRS Guitars, recently traveled to Brazil to spend time with Xandao Meneses, guitar player for the Brazilian band O Rappa (pronounced Oh Hoppa in Portuguese) to witness the filming of a live concert DVD as well as to tag along for a few stops on the band's most recent tour. On August 24th, O Rappa performed and filmed a historic live concert in Rocinha, which is a favela (or slum) located in the hills of Rio de Janeiro. Due to the isolated and often violent nature of the favelas, most acts will not perform among the shanty homes and twisting streets of these communities. O Rappa is a bit different. They have a message in their music which empowers people from all walks of life, rich or poor, so Rocinha seemed to be the perfect place to film a live concert DVD.

Skunk Anasie Rocks PRS in New Video Release

Skunk Anasie is a worldwide, multi-platinum London rock band that has racked up nearly 5 million sales since their formation in 1994. Some of the highlights include headlining Glastonbury festival in the UK and playing gigs for Nelson Mandelas gift to the nation shows, as well as performing for the Dalai Lama with Luciano Pavarotti. Fightstar Launch World Exclusive iPhone Game

Fightstar, in collaboration with Horsie in the Hedge (HITH) Media and KBMJ Inc., launch Spilt Milk, the world’s first iPhone game designed by a band for the iPhone and iPod touch.

Spilt Milk is an original arcade-style game set to music from Fightstar's soon to be released third album titled ‘be human’. The game brings ‘be human’s’ album cover to life and allows fans to interact with the scene found on the cover. Furthermore, three complete album tracks are included in the app allowing players to listen to Fightstar's music while they enjoy the fun and addictive game play of Spilt Milk.

The objective of the game is to catch drops of milk by moving a glass with your finger. High scores are achieved by avoiding spilled milk and beating game stages. Bonus powerups and additional glasses can also be unlocked. What starts as a quirky and simple game becomes a blend of skill and strategy as players learn how to manage 3 glasses at once.

The player with the highest score in the world on April 30th will win a free PRS guitar valued at $1,000. In addition, other players will be randomly chosen to win free ‘Criminal Damage’ clothing and Fightstar merchandise just for participating.

The game will also act as a direct portal to information on Fightstar’s news and tour dates for fans.

With the great success of the iPhone application market and it's predominantly music-oriented crowd, Dan Haigh of Fightstar saw an opportunity to promote ‘be human’ in a novel way. Acoustic Guitar Legend Tony McManus For PRS Launch At LIMS

Headline Music Ltd, UK distributors of Paul Reed Smith guitars, has announced that the upcoming London International Music Show will see the UK debut of PRS acoustic guitars.

Launched at Winter NAMM 2009, PRS’s Tonare Grand and Angelus acoustic models were amongst the highlights of the show, and have been warmly received by critics and players.

Demonstrating the new PRS acoustics at LiMS will be special guest guitarist Tony McManus, hailed (by none other than John Renbourn) as “the greatest Celtic guitarist in the world”.
