Dallas Perkins
Over the past two decades, popular guitar virtuoso Dallas Perkins has pushed the envelope like no one else, delving deeply into uncharted waters and opening our ears to exciting, diverse new musical horizons. Dallas’s music embraces unconventional ideas and strong musical & emotional dynamics, all translated on guitar with stunning technical accuracy. Dallas’ unique style mesmerizes both critics and audiences alike - in the recording studio and on stage.
Dallas’s debut release Looking Glass was hailed by critics in Guitar World, and Guitar for the Practicing Musician magazines. As Dallas’s talents became widely known, he found himself booking numerous live and session gigs (Roxx Gang, The Zeros) and instructing many superstar “guitar hero” students including Obituary’s James Murphy. Dallas also taught at the famed Musicians Institute in Hollywood as well as National Guitar Workshop, teaching co-clinics with Testament’s Alex Skolnik.
Dallas continues to perform live and release acclaimed solo CD’s (including the smash Emergent Behavior), as well as working on sessions with musical icons including Chip Z’Nuff (Adler’s Appetite, Enuff Z’Nuff). Dallas’ current release Unbecoming features a groundbreaking collaboration with producer/engineer Neil Citron, widely acclaimed for his work with Steve Vai.
Dallas has also created the popular Fretboard Alchemy, a monthly showcase featuring Southern California’s most talented and progressive emerging guitar talent performing live at venues throughout Los Angeles.
Dallas’s current PRS Guitar/Sam Ash clinic tour ends in April, and he will kick off a promotional & clinic tour at selected venues nationwide this summer to coincide with the release of his next record, due to hit shelves on June 10th, 2011.
