Justin grew up in DC/ Maryland. He graduated from Bladensburg High School and attended UDC for one year. He works for the District Government but is also an amazing Professional Guitarist. Justin began playing at the young age of 8 years old, when his mother showed him a few chords on her guitar, yes his mother played the guitar. Justin was featured on his very first recording at 11 years old. Justin plays at venues around the world for various national artist in the genres of Gospel music & Contemporary jazz. Justin has been playing the guitar over 30 years. He is the founder of J.Nathaniel Young DBA/Jrok Music Factory, LLC.
He has worked with an impressive array of artist such as, Avalon, Patti Labelle, Sandi Patti, The Winans, Edwin & Walter Hawkins, Richard Smallwood, Maurette Brown Clark, Rance Allen, Karen Clark, Kelly Price, Marvin Sapp, Yolanda Adams, Donnie McClurkin, Kim Burrell, Shirley Caesar, TONEX, and Marcus Johnson. In 2008, Justin formed a gospel group along with Pastor D.B. Coley called The Soul Messengerz, rightfully titled because they are definitely delivering a soulful message with a magnificent sound. The Soul Messengerz are a traditional quartet gospel group (all men) that won the 2010 Gospel Super Fest Battle of the Bands National. The Soul Messengerz were the very first group to ever win this honor from the DMV. They have been very blessed to have only been together for two years and win such a prestigious award. That's a true testimony to their talent and spirit. Justin is currently mixing and mastering The Soul Messengerz first recording, which is due to be released this Easter (2011).
