Mario Sebastian is a dynamic and multi-talented Latin American artist born in the Spanish rock capital of South America; Argentina. Mario truly embodies the new breed of emerging bilingual pop/rock artists. His songs and music are deeply rooted in harmonic melody and intimate lyrics and he is widely recognized and respected for his work as the lead guitarist with top recording artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, La 5a Estacion among others.

     

Mario is now pursuing his own solo project with a collection of songs that evoke emotional and deep lyrics with a very strong melodic foundation, his influences include everything from Led Zeppelin to Mercedes Sosa, from Classical to Jazz, from Guns and Roses to Damien Rice and everything in between. He recently co-wrote with Grammy winning writer/producer Jose Luis Pagan the spanish ballad “Ella solo piensa en el,” and he co-produced with Grammy winner producer Julio Reyes Copello “Through The Eyes of a Child” (#4 Euro Top 100, #6 German Top 40) for the German rock band Reamonn.

   

Mario started off playing drums and then turned his creative expression to electric and acoustic guitars. Mario studied for two years at "Centro Polivalente de Arte de Buenos Aires", a conservatory of the arts in Buenos Aires.

     

At age 17 Mario decided to relocate to New York City along with a group of close friends and fellow musicians. It was in New York that he met Marc Anthony's long time bassist and friend Erben Perez. After being asked to replace a guitarist who didn't show up for a concert at Madison Square Garden, Mario was then invited to join the Marc Anthony Band as their permanent guitarist for both Marc Anthony and his wife Jennifer Lopez. Since then he has recorded and toured as the lead guitarist for both Marc and Jennifer; Mario also recorded on Marc’s new album Iconos and on various JLo albums including all guitars on her Spanish album "Como Ama Una Mujer," and the Juntos Tours in 2005, 2006, and 2007 to present.

Having performed around the world and shared the stage with various artists including Santana, Chayanne, Laura Pausini, Alejandro Fernandez, Marco Antonio Solis, etc. Mario will soon be releasing his debut album later this year.
