Nick Brewer is the main guitar player for the hard rock group The Memorials. He started playing piano at the age of twelve and quickly took to studying music. He received his first guitar two years later and couldn't put it down. After high school and several teen center bands later, he attended the Berklee College of Music. While in Boston, Nick Brewer and ex-Mars Volta drummer Thomas Pridgen formed a metal band named Sabai. They recorded two records before disbanding. Nick moved to South Carolina where he quickly began playing guitar and piano in local rock groups and jazz quartets. While developing his sound of hard rock, psychedelia, jazz, and high energy, he and Thomas connected again to form The Memorials. They just released their debut album January 18th and recently completed a successful 45 day American tour. A spring and summer tour is booked as well, and a European tour is in the works. The Memorials sophomore album will be released in 2011 and there is no sign of this group stopping.
