Sally Gates

Orbweaver

Sally Gates is the lead guitarist for the Miami-based experimental metal band Orbweaver.  Since relocating to the United States in 2008, Sally has toured extensively throughout the US and Canada as the live bassist for Gigan and session guitarist for Success Will Write Apocalypse Across The Sky (SWWAATS). This built upon her musical accomplishments in her native land of New Zealand, where she had previously toured throughout the country playing lead guitar for Relentless Attrition and Infernal Assault.

In early 2011 she joined forces with the newly formed Orbweaver, a band whose tones range from the extremes of metal to psychedelic noise rock.  Orbweaver turned out to be the perfect vehicle for her creativity and versatility as a musician; an eclectic mix allowing her free rein to combine speed and technical prowess with groove and feel from blues, funk and jazzy elements. Looking ahead, 2012 should prove to be a productive year for Sally, with planned releases and touring in the works for Orbweaver.
