Alter Bridge will release the highly anticipated “AB III” on Alter Bridge Recordings via EMI Label Services on November 9, 2010. This release comes on the heels of their hugely successful releases “Blackbird” and “One Day Remains.”
Alter Bridge’s incredibly intense and dynamic performance on “AB III” showcases their continuous growth and evolution. “We went into the process of putting the record together with a lot of confidence,” band founder Mark Tremonti reveals, “but we didn’t go into it looking to be commercial, or to have radio singles. We just wanted this to be an album that pleased us artistically, through and through.”
The first single, “Isolation,” is getting lots of rock radio love and shows off Alter Bridge’s ability to play and write aggressively while maintaining their signature melodic component. Unlike previous singles, “Isolation” is moody and features very dark lyrics. Check it out at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9S9D5RRwQ8
Lyrically, the first two albums are based on themes immersed in hope and perseverance in the face of adversity. On AB III, however, the theme has shifted. “This record is definitely a departure from the last two albums in terms of its subject matter. It touches on the thoughts and emotions of someone who has come to question everything that was once regarded as an absolute truth. It’s the realization that everything you once believed in might not exist.” Kennedy states.
Mike Harris EVP EMI Label Service’s comments “Alter Bridge is one of the quintessential arena artists. They write music generations can relate to. We are thrilled Alter Bridge decided to make EMI Label Services their home.”
The acclaimed band formed in 2004 by Grammy Award winning guitarist, Mark Tremonti (Creed), features front man Myles Kennedy (lead vocalist for Slash’s solo touring band and Mayfield Four) and former Creed band members, Brian Marshall and Scott Philips.
