This week's release of Toby Keith's new album Clancy's Tavern is seemingly being toasted in all corners as fans raise their red Solo cups in million-strong unison. That's right, the video for the album's "Red Solo Cup" passed one million views Monday evening less than two weeks after its online debut.
Though still not officially a single at radio, the song and its party-themed video have created a viral tidal wave. Beyond the online views, "Red Solo Cup" is the No. 1 video at CMT, giving Keith two videos in the top 10. The clip for his recent No. 1 single "Made In America" is the other.
Meanwhile, Keith's highly anticipated album bowed globally Monday, with the LA Times noting the infectious appeal of one track in particular: "Things turn wonderfully loopy in 'Red Solo Cup,' a love letter to the plastic beverage container." Other media outlets and influential entertainment blogs have taken note as well, including New York magazine, Village Voice, Entertainment Weekly, Houston Press, Slate, AOL and many more.
PRS would like to thank Rich Eckhardt, guitarist for Toby Keith for the continued support and offer congrats on another new album.
