PRS SE Line

With the launch of the SE Santana model in 2001, a whole new variety of players had access to PRS quality at a much more affordable price point. In the years following the 2001 release, we have enjoyed growing and expanding the SE lineup into what it is today - a diverse selection of great feeling, great sounding, and highly reliable instruments.

Today, SE guitars are revered as a sort of "boutique import" and enjoyed on stage by thousands of musicians around the globe - including artists like Zach Myers, Alex Lifeson, and Mark Holcomb. Jack Higginbotham served as PRS Guitars' president during the introduction of our SE line and now more directly focuses his skills into growing our SE line as a Chief Operating Officer.

Below he explains the story of our SE product family.

Hi, 1. Is there a 2018 SE collection in the works? 2. Is it true that the SE line made in Indonesia is stopped, and only SE Custom (made in ???) will be available?

I have owned an SE Soapbar II since 2005 and it is still one of my all time favorite guitars! Others, including more expensive guitars have come and gone since then but these SE guitars make a lot of others look pale in comparison. Keep up the good work everybody, you make great instruments!!

Hello! I was wondering about the status of the SE 7 string guitars. I don't see them in many stores and not on online dealer's websites. Will there be a new version for the 2018 line-up? I am a proud owner of a SE Mark Holcomb guitar and I can't praise it enough. The specs are everything I've ever wanted on a guitar. Will we be seeing a 7 string version of his signature or a SE 7 string loosely based off his guitar in the future? I would love to play a 7 string like that! Thanks for the beautiful instruments, love to see and play them, looking forward to what's coming next for PRS!
