PRS Guitars Sponsors Creation Festival

8.10.07

Paul Reed Smith Guitars is a proud sponsor of Creation Festival, the world’s largest annual Christian music festival, and was on site at both Creation East and West this summer. In addition to providing PRS guitars for giveaway contests at both festivals, more than half of the headlining bands on each coast proudly play PRS Guitars. Creation Festival bands endorsing PRS Guitars include RelientK, Casting Crowns, Third Day, TobyMac, Kutless, David Crowder Band, Skillet, Stellar Kart, Flyleaf, Hawk Nelson, Pillar, Fireflight and RED.

Jack Higginbotham, PRS Guitars’ President, was onsite at both festivals, organizing PRS guitar displays, PRS SE giveaway promotions, interactive PRS guitar demonstrations and also to support the many bands using PRS gear. Jack offered, “It’s difficult to describe the magnitude of this event to people who haven’t seen it. Between Creation East and West, we had about 15,000 entries for the PRS SE giveaway and the opportunity to talk to hundreds of PRS owners and prospective owners. Being onsite also gave us the ability to meet with our artists, many of whom helped work our booth. Connecting with the festival staff and the small army of volunteers was a great experience.”

Nick Kulb, VP of Marketing and Sales for Creation Festival said, “This is the first year that Creation Festival and PRS Guitars have joined forces for a multi-level promotion between Creation 2007, PRS and MonsterPod.org. The partnership has proved to be a great success, with more than 15,000 people entering the contest. We are very pleased with the outcome and plan to collaborate with PRS Guitars again on future promotions. It was wonderful working with them and their team, and I look forward to implementing a similar partnership in the future.”

The East Coast festival, attended by more than 75,000 music enthusiasts, takes place at Agape Farm, located a few miles from Shirleysburg, PA, and includes four full days of camping, fellowship and music from the top names in the contemporary Christian music industry. The Gorge, a natural amphitheater about two hundred miles from Spokane, WA was home for Creation Fest West, just a few weeks following the East Coast celebration.

Creation has been featured by several mainstream media outlets, including CBS' "Sunday Morning” with Charles Kuralt, VH1, PBS, Details Magazine and The New York Times. GQ Magazine’s recent feature on the festival was the largest in the history of the magazine. In 2004, the Creation Festival was honored by the Gospel Music Association with the Lifetime Achievement Award, an honor that recognizes major contributions to the gospel music industry through a company’s commitment to the Christian community for twenty or more years.
