Inspired by Helmet’s staggering guitar riffs and the loud/quiet vocal dynamics of Tool, Chevelle exploded onto the music scene in the mid-to-late 1990’s with a powerful, melodic alt-metal style that instantly gained them a devoted fanbase. This three-piece outfit, comprised of brothers Pete and Sam Loeffler and their brother-in-law Dean, have put out six studio albums and constantly maintained a healthy tour schedule when not in the studio. Their most recent album, Hats off to the Bull, was released in December 2011 and hit #3 on Billboard’s Hard Rock Albums Chart.
Guitarist and lead vocalist Pete Loeffler has played PRS since he was 19, and he has, “never felt normal on stage without playing them.” Pete has a Custom 24, SE Mike Mushok Baritone, and a custom-built baritone…all of which he says work well for drop-tuning and are reliable enough to take out on the road.
