You don’t forget a good music festival. The arena sound, the big lineups, and the energy of thousands of fellow music fans. Each year, PRS teams up with “The Music Experience,” a traveling interactive musical instruments exhibit that visits rock and blues festivals around the country. Being inside The Music Experience tent gives us an opportunity to meet music fans and share our love of great guitars and amps. Here’s a quick recap of this year’s festivals.
For artists and fans alike, the Vans Warped Tour is a bit magical; there is really nothing like it as bands travel together to play in 38 cities in 46 days. As you can imagine, the schedule and sheer effort it takes to pull-off a traveling tour of this magnitude is grueling. We caught up with a few PRS artists on this year’s tour to get the scoop on what it’s really like.
This is it, the final countdown. Artists and music fans around the continental US are prepping for the final full cross country Warped Tour. This year it’s kicking off in Pomona, CA on June 21st and wrapping up 46 days and 38 cities later in West Palm Beach, Florida. Check out this blog to see the PRS artists on this year’s tour!
It’s that time of year again as we trek to sunny Anaheim, California for the annual NAMM show! The National Association of Music Merchants or “NAMM” is a music industry trade show inaugurated in 1901. The show exists to support the music industry and show the world the latest innovations in musical products, recording technology, sound, and lighting. This week, tens of thousands will gather at the Anaheim convention center for a few days of business and music-filled fun. Check out this blog to see the new gear we will have with us at NAMM 2018!

Each year, the PRS Private Stock Acoustic team visits the Woodstock Invitational Luthiers Showcase in Woodstock, New York. “Woodstock” as it’s affectionately refered to by attendees, is a showcase of the finest acoustic guitars built by the most talented luthiers in the country. This November, the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) in Phoenix Arizona is celebrating the unparalleled combination of imagination and artistry in inlaid guitars. Opening November 5, 2016, the exhibit “Dragons and Vines: Inlaid Guitar Masterpieces” will present a collection of instruments featuring stunning inlay design created by the greatest contemporary North American inlay artists, luthiers and collaborators and highlighting the works and private collection of Larry Sifel (1948-2006), Pearl Works founder and PRS Guitars’ longtime inlay partner.

Music education is important, no doubt. As guitar builders, we see ourselves on the continual road of improvement and discovery and in the same way, guitarists and musicians undergo this journey as well. That’s why we partnered with The Entertainment Institute (TEI) during this summer’s Warped Tour. Get the recap here!
Hello! Jack Higginbotham here – President of PRS Guitars. I recently returned from the Rolex 24 at Daytona, our partner IMSA’s most high-profile racing event. I have not attended this race in a few years since the NAMM show (the music/gear industry’s largest tradeshow) and the Rolex have traditionally landed on the same weekend, so it felt somewhat nostalgic to land at the tiny Daytona airport and make my way back to the track. Here is a bit of a story about the weekend…
PRS Signature artist and blues legend, David Grissom is heading up to Montana to take his place as the “Blues Artist in Residence” for this year’s Crown Guitar Festival. David will be offering workshops, clinics and lessons during this week long, guitar-loving festival. While the workshops and instruction time are only open to registered attendees, David, and a very impressive roster of artists, will be featured in nightly concerts that are open to the public. Check out this blog post to learn more about the Crown Guitar Festival.
For the past 29 years, thousands upon thousands of music fans have been flocking to Austin, TX for the South by Southwest (SXSW) music festival. Local residents refer to the madness as “South By” and it absolutely takes over their city. Downtown roads are closed as people migrate around searching for their next favorite band. PRS Guitars has had a presence at the festival for a few years but most recently opened the Shred Shed - an isolation booth where musicians can jam out!
We had a wonderful time this year at the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) tradeshow. Approximately 90,000 people gather each year in Anaheim, California to celebrate music and represent their brand in the industry. The PRS booth this year was buzzing with excitement as we displayed all of our products across all of our product lines: Private Stock, Core, S2, SE, and Amplifiers. Check out the photos in this blog post to see our booth and the products we are proud to display!
We had a great time joining the Warped Tour this year for one of their stops on the east coast!
As the official acoustic guitar of the Vans Warped Tour presented by Journeys, PRS Guitars would like to thank all our fans, the BandHappy folks, and our Warped tour artists, including the Full Sail University Acoustic Basement artists for backing our guitars and putting them through the paces on a nationwide tour. We had a blast and the turnout at our booth was fantastic! We had artist signings paired with the opportunity for fans to try out our SE Angelus acoustic guitars.
Check out the video below for a short recap of our time at Warped Tour. Rock on!
