Innovation, teamwork, and quality have been the lifeblood of our business since Paul Reed Smith built his first factory in Annapolis, MD in 1985. Today, 360+ employees strong, our factory is continuing our mission on the edge of the Chesapeake Bay in Stevensville, Maryland. In this blog, we're excited to debut a factory tour video exploring our Maryland shop and sharing the details that define PRS.

Our new USA factory tour is narrated by PRS COO and 35 year employee, Jack Higginbotham. Jack started at PRS as an entry level employee in 1985, the same year Paul Reed Smith founded PRS guitars. Over his tenure as a PRS employee, Jack has had a wide range of responsibilities throughout the business, always supporting Paul's vision of no-compromise guitar making.

Today, Jack serves as our Chief Operating Officer. Part of his job involves traveling to Indonesia, working closely with our factory there, and continuing to uphold our quality standards. Though he currently focuses a large amount of energy on our SE instruments, few people have the depth of knowledge and first hand experience within our USA factory like Jack.

Grab your popcorn and settle in as we explore the PRS factory and its processes ranging from rough cut to final assembly:
